Container Centralen Says RFID Provides 'Substantial' Cost Savings

Container Centralen uses Nordic ID PL 3000 mobile RFID computers to identify each trolley moved into its facilities. RFID technology is also being used to automate the paperwork necessary when shipments are transported between its depots. With the help of the Nordic ID devices and an application developed by Mieloo & Alexander - an RFID integrator and a partner of Nordic ID - a "substantial" cost savings with improved logistics efficiency and depot administration has been achieved.

I'm interested in R.F.I.D. as application in Security in Logistics in the Marine & port environment.
    Some innovation there?

    Hello KEMPS VIC,

There are a lot of security applications with RFID and specialized in different areas. Mainly for access control HF RFID technology has been used but nowadays also UHF RFID technology. Other field service applications are also used for example security firms. What kind of applications do you have in mind?

We have a partner in Holland (Molenaar Strategie) that is doing just that (marine shipbuilding parts control + Port/ship access) using the Merlin Cross Dipole UHF handterminals. Also see http://www.molenaarstrategie.nl/rfid.php
