Good news for our friends at UPM RFID! ABI Research has given top score to UPM RFID in their Vendor Matrix.
Vendor Matrix, an analytical tool developed by ABI Research,
aims to provide a clear understanding of vendor's positions in
specific markets. Vendors are assessed on the important parameters
of innovation and implementation across several criteria unique to
each vendor matrix.
According to Michael Liard, research director in autoID and
smart cards, UPM leads the competition with its emphasis on
developing a broad, deep portfolio of passive UHF inlays that
target multiple applications, industries, and tag form factors.
UPM RFID's main rivals, Avery Dennison and Alien Technology,
made a tight race in the Vendor Matrix. Liard praises Avery
Dennison for demonstrating innovation and implementation success in
the passive UHF inlay market, most notably in retail apparel
tagging. Alien Technology's high ranking reflects the company's
strength in the passive UHF inlay side of their business. The
ranking list of Vendor Matrix with description of the methodology
