This week on Wednesday RFID Arena had its very 1st Birthday. Last month a lot of good blogs were written and you can find a collection of them here. Last week a hilarious video was published, called the Nordic ID Big Sista.
Happy Birthday RFID
The RFID Arena saw daylight on May 2nd 2011 and it has now been
a year. We have had amazing good blogs, articles, guest bloggers
and white papers on the RFID Arena. Thanks to all contributors!
Of course a BIG thanks goes to our readers that have actively
commented, liked, tweeted, shared and forwarded to other platforms
to open discussion on the subjects.
Last month a bunch of great blogs were written and in case you
missed them, here they are once more.
1) Jessica Säilä on the Apparel Retail section talks
about the magic 5 cents per tag.
For a long time, the barrier
for item-level RFID has been the tag cost. Since 2001 or so, the
industry has discussed, waited, wanted, hoped and believed that the
changing point is when the cost hits $0,05.
2) Sini Syrjälä wrote about successful RFID tag writing
in two articles:
a) Succeed in writing UHF RFID tags
Once the decision about adopting RFID to the
company's operations has been made, a number of issues need to be
considered. This article discusses the issues related to tags and
the tag writing; tag features and the communication between the tag
and the reader.
b) Succeed in writing UHF RFID Tags - practical
Once the decision about
adopting RFID to the company's operations has been made, a number
of issues need to be considered. This article discusses the issues
related to tags and the tag writing and provides tips to writing
and reading tags.
3) Sini Syrjälä also wrote a nice piece on an RFID demo application
This is an article
describing the basic features for doing an RFID demo with an RFID
fixed reader, the Nordic ID Sampo. The features of the demo
application are basically the same also on the mobile computer, the
Nordic ID Morphic and the Nordic ID Merlin.
